im new to this forums and wondering how do admins/mods check if a file is safe i have many files that i wonder how safe they are and would like to know how to check them or what processes mods use

pretty sure they compile and check binary for any weird stuff, and they also execute it to check if it speaks to websites or any other things

We are not specific enough since such info could be abused to better hide malicious payload in legitimate cheat file

Well while they obviously have to disclose their specific methods and work flow id assume its just like any other malware analysis. Static and Dynamic analysis on the binary, running it in a VM, checking for networking, persistancy and other things that might indicate malware, theres a multitude of different prefixes such as Safe, Puzzled, free etc. these will indicate the risk that the file might carry with it, sometimes analysis can be inconclusive due to developers using protection to hide their code.

they ask me and i just say yes or no and its safe or not and its pretty easy to tell if its safe or not and that it gets verified that it is safe or not
