other launchers that let you use minecraft for free usually include spyware and adware
this is a free version of prism (best launcher in my opinion btw) that lets you use offline accounts for no charge and without all of that bullshit

you can use any account name to run minecraft on, independent of if you actually own it or not (of course this isn’t gonna magically let you into any account on servers like hypixel or minemen that don’t have any login system inside the server, because the verification that the account you are using is really yours, which is all done inside mojang servers and you send a public key to the server that only the owner of the account gets sent that is then compiled and decompiled with a private key that is inside mojang’s servers and lets the server know if your account is legitimate or not instead of asking your client)

the launcher itself was kind of free, but in a different sense
the launcher was modified so that minecraft free is allowed
so free servers are just servers that let these free users get into their server, and most of them even the smallest ones usually have a login system so that obviously you still wouldn’t be able to take everything from someone else’s account in those servers

okay so idk if you are braindead or not, but like free doesnt refer to the launcher being free but a concept of minecraft where you can play the game for free, these are considered free accounts, with theyre own launchers, servers and whatnot. Hope that helps
